Infant Toddler Community Notes from the Director
As summer is winding down there is a lot of positive things to reflect on. We had a great summer and the children enjoyed soaking up the sun, playing in the water and of course observing the nature that surrounds us. This summer also included the arrival of our newest residents of Hope Infant Toddler, […]

Now Enrolling Ages Six Weeks - Three Years Old
When you tour our Infant Toddler Community in Creve Coeur, you will quickly recognize that the Montessori approach is about self-mastery. You will see children at ease, purposeful, curious, and confident. Our certified Montessori teachers who care for them are loving and respectful of each child's individuality.
Like all Hope Montessori Academy schools, the Infant-Toddler Community classrooms and play areas are designed to feel more like home than a classroom. Nowhere is this more evident than in the infant area where our smallest children are allowed to play, stretch, grab and explore on specially radiant heated floors.
A Montessori education is preparation for life. Our work supplements the parent's work in helping the children develop self-calming, self-control and self-confidence. Instead of looking at the child's behavior as what they are, we look at who the child may become. Optimism, positive attitudes, and hope for the future are essential to the success of children and our culture.
The Infant-Toddler Community is located off North Mason Road on a hill just above, and adjacent to the Hope Montessori Creve Coeur preschool. The school is designed to serve infants as young as 6 weeks and toddlers to the age of 3 years.
Campus Highlights
Infant Programs
(6 wks-18 months)
We've created a home-like atmosphere to nurture the youngest of learners. Our infant environment fosters the growth and development of our youngest learners. Even at this early age independence is important. We encourage the infants to explore their environment at their own pace. You will not see any containment devices here, we want to let the child move freely when they feel confident enough to do so.
Toddler Programs
(15 months-3 yrs)
Our program demonstrates on one of the core principals that Maria Montessori created, mixed age groupings. This is crucial for these little learners to be able to not just observe older children, but to be able to help the younger ones as well. In our toddler rooms you will see a variety of work on the shelves. This is always evolving to meet the needs of the children. We foster their curiosity and let them explore the world around them.
A Secure Place To Play — Playgrounds
We have beautiful playgrounds that surround the building. Each classroom has the opportunity to use them at any time as long as the weather permits. We also love utilizing the outdoors to explore the nature around our building.
Student-Teacher Ratio
Low ratio of teachers to students in the classroom meets state standards. Our Infant Rooms exceed state standards by having a ratio of 1:3.
Our toddler rooms are at a lower ratio as well being 1:6
Chickens
We also house chickens on our campus. We currently have 6 chickens that lay eggs. The eggs are always available to take home and enjoy. We also encourage families to sign up over the weekends to come and take care of the chickens. They love to hold, pet and gather the eggs while, also learning the responsibility of taking care of cleaning our chicken coop.
